Welcome to the site to download the Iowa Waste Reduction Center’s Grain Elevator potential to emit (PTE) calculation tool. This program is designed to help owners or operators of grain elevators subject to the requirements of rule 567 IAC 22.10 determine their grain elevator group classification.

This tool will assist grain elevator owners or operators in identifying whether their grain elevator is a Group 1, Group 2, Group 3 or Group 4 grain elevator.

After determining the grain elevator group status, owners or operators must submit the proper forms to the IDNR Air Quality Bureau. Owners or operators of Group 1 grain elevators must submit the Group 1 Registration form along with the PTE calculations from this spreadsheet. Owners or operators of Group 2 grain elevators may submit the Group 2 permit application along with the PTE calculation and equipment list from this program or elect to submit the standard Air Quality construction permit application forms. Owners or operators of Group 3 and Group 4 grain elevators must submit the standard Air Quality construction permit application forms.
