What Is The IAEAP?

The Iowa Air Emissions Assistance Program (IAEAP) is a program at the IWRC designed to assist small businesses (100 employees or less) with air emission regulations and permitting requirements enforced by the Clean Air Act. The IAEAP, funded by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), provides free, non-regulatory assistance. The five full time IAEAP staff at the IWRC represent small business interests at the IDNR. The IAEAP can assist businesses that have pollution from non-major sources as qualified by the Title-V Operating Permit and Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD).

What Can The IAEAP Do For You?

The IAEAP assists Iowa small businesses through on-site visits. Information collected at an on-site visit helps to manage Iowa's air resources and apply pollution control programs. The IAEAP works with many industries including dry cleaners, body shops, manufacturers, grain facilities and printers.

Permit Development

The IAEAP can help businesses determine permit status, apply for permits and assist them in meeting permit conditions. Through on-site visits, IAEAP specialists gather information about a facility to provide the best permit assistance in the interest of both the business and the environment.

Emission Inventories

The IAEAP assists Iowa small businesses in completion of the Minor Source Emissions Inventory Questionnaire (MSEIQ). For the MSEIQ, data about the sources and quantities of air pollutants emitted into the atmosphere by businesses is gathered. This questionnaire helps the IDNR continue to manage our air resources, thus making sure our air quality meets federal health standards.
